Aging parents
Companionship when the house has gone quiet.
Loneliness is common after friends move, driving stops, or a spouse dies. A companion conversation can help. It is not therapy, not a diagnosis, and not a substitute for people who already care.
Sevah is a non-medical companion and care-concierge conversation. It does not diagnose, treat, or replace a clinician, a care plan, or a family visit. Urgent or life-threatening needs belong with emergency services.
Company is not a clinical claim
Sevah does not diagnose loneliness, depression, or dementia. If you are worried about mood, safety, or thinking changes, talk with the clinician who already knows the parent.
A daily conversation can still make the afternoon easier. That is the job here: company, with consent, and a care team that can review what matters.
When public care and private care sit beside company
If a parent also needs help bathing or preparing meals, that is personal care. In California, IHSS or a licensed home care agency may apply. California Home Help explains the public path. Sevah does not quote IHSS wages or hours.
If you want a coordinator to talk through companion help, create a free account. Caregivers and family visits stay essential.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is Tara a therapist or a medical device?
No. Tara is a conversational companion. It does not diagnose or treat.
Can companionship replace home care?
No. Hands-on personal care is a different job. Use home care, IHSS, or family for that work.
What if we are worried about safety when a parent is alone?
That is a care-team and family decision. Sevah is not an emergency response service. Call emergency services for urgent needs.
